Roomba Replacement Parts: What Fits Your Series
Replenishment kits, filters, brushes, dirt bags and a battery option, each matched to the Roomba series its own listing names, so you buy the part that fits the first time.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no cost to you. How we make money.
Roomba replacement parts are easy to buy and surprisingly easy to get wrong. iRobot has changed its brushes, filters and kits across several generations, so a filter that fits an 800 Series does not fit an i Series, and a kit made for the e, i and j robots is marked as not compatible with some Combo models. A part that does not fit is a part you return, and a robot that keeps running on a worn brush or a clogged filter cleans worse every week.
This guide is a compatibility guide, not a ranking. It lists the iRobot parts we link to, what is in each box, and the Roomba series each listing says it works with. If you are still choosing a robot rather than looking after one, our iRobot Roomba reviews cover the robots themselves.
How We Check Fit
We do not run a test lab, and we will not pretend to. Every part on this page was matched by reading the maker's own listing line by line and copying the compatibility list it gives. Where a listing does not state something, this page says "not stated" rather than guess, and it tells you to check the manual.
-
Series named
The Roomba series or models the listing says the part works with.
-
Not compatible
The models the listing says the part will not fit, where it names them.
-
What is in the box
The count of filters, brushes or bags, as the listing states it.
-
Replacement timing
Only intervals a listing gives. Where it gives none, we send you to the manual.
-
Genuine or third party
Whether the part is made by iRobot or by another company.

Find Your Roomba Series First
Every part below is sold by series, so the first job is to know which one you own. The name is usually on the box, in the Roomba Home app and on the robot itself, and the manual lists it too. The listings use these groupings:
The 800 and 900 Series
The older numbered robots. Their kits and filters are marked for the 800 and 900 Series only, and the filter listing says "800 and 900 Series Robots only".
The e, i and j Series
The letter robots, including the i7 and j7 families, plus the Combo i5 and j5. Their parts are listed together, with a few Combo exceptions noted in the listings.
The 105, 205, 405 and Essential Robots
The current entry and mid-range Roombas. Their parts are listed by number, and the edge brush is the one part shared across several of them.
If your robot does not appear in a listing's compatibility list, do not assume it fits. Check the manual or the maker's parts page, then come back.
Roomba Parts by Series
The table pairs each series group with the part each listing names for it. "Not stated" means none of the listings we read names that series for that part, so check the manual before buying elsewhere.

Roomba Replenishment Kits
A replenishment kit bundles the parts that wear fastest, which is the simplest way to refresh a robot in one purchase. Each kit below is built for one series, and the listings do not say that a kit fits any robot outside the ones it names. For the old and the new, each kit pairs filters with side brushes and a main brush, so you start again from a clean setup.
Top pick · Best for older numbered robots
iRobot Roomba 800 and 900 Series Replenishment Kit
The one-box refresh for an 800 or 900 Series Roomba. It covers the three parts that wear fastest: the filter, the side brush and the main extractors.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You own an 800 or 900 Series robot and want to replace everything that touches the floor and the dustbin at once.
- Skip it if
- Your robot is an e, i or j model; this kit is listed for the 800 and 900 Series only.
iRobot lists this kit as compatible with Roomba 800 or 900 Series robots. In the box are three AeroForce High-Efficiency Filters, two edge-sweeping side brushes and one set of replacement AeroForce Extractors. The listing says the filter attaches to the dustbin to catch particles and that a dirty filter weakens the robot's suction power, and it adds that worn brushes do not grab debris as effectively.
The AeroForce Extractors are the pair of rollers that stay in contact with carpet and hard floor. Because the kit holds three filters, you can rotate through them over the year rather than buying one at a time. The listing does not say how often to change anything, so use the manual for timing.
What stands out
- Filters, side brushes and extractors in one purchase
- Three filters in the box
- Made by iRobot, with the 800 and 900 fit stated
Trade-offs
- Listed for the 800 and 900 Series only
- No replacement interval stated in the listing
Best for letter-series robots
iRobot Roomba e, i and j Series Replenishment Kit
The widest-fitting kit on this page. It names the e5 to e7, the i1 to i8 and the j6+, j7, j7+ and j8+, and it also covers the Combo i5 and j5.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You have an e, i or j Roomba, and you want filters, edge brushes and main brushes together.
- Skip it if
- You own a Combo j7+, Combo j9+ or Combo 10 Max; the listing says it is not compatible with those three.
This is iRobot's replenishment kit for the letter-series robots. It includes three High-Efficiency Filters, three edge-sweeping brushes angled at 27 degrees, and one set of Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes. The listing says the filters trap 99% of dog and cat dander allergens, and that the rubber brushes do not get tangled with pet hair.
The compatibility list is long and specific: Roomba e5, e6, e7, i1, i1+, i2, i3, i3+, i4, i4+, i6, i6+, i7, i7+, i8, i8+, j6+, j7, j7+ and j8+. The title also names the Combo i5 and j5. It then says the kit is not compatible with the Roomba Combo j7+, Combo j9+ or Combo 10 Max, so read your exact model name before you order.
What stands out
- One kit for most e, i and j robots
- Dual rubber brushes described as tangle-resistant with pet hair
- Three filters and three edge brushes
Trade-offs
- Not compatible with Combo j7+, Combo j9+ or Combo 10 Max
- Long compatibility list: check your model name
Best for 105 Combo and Vac robots
iRobot Roomba 105 Combo and Vac Replenishment Kit
The kit for the entry-level 105 Combo and Vac. Three filters, three edge brushes and a multi-surface bristle brush.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You own a Roomba 105 Vac or 105 Combo and want its regular maintenance parts together.
- Skip it if
- You own another series; the listing names 105 Series robots only.
iRobot sells this kit for the Roomba 105 Combo and Vac robots, and the listing calls it everything you need for regular maintenance. It contains three filters, three edge-sweeping brushes and one Multi-Surface Bristle Brush. Note the difference from the e, i and j kit above: the 105 brush is a bristle brush, not the dual rubber pair.
The listing repeats the point made across iRobot's parts: a dirty filter weakens suction, and a worn brush does not clean as effectively. It does not give a number of months. If you only need new side brushes for this robot, the edge brush pack further down also lists the 105.
What stands out
- Filters, edge brushes and main brush in one purchase
- Made for the 105 Combo and Vac
- Edge brushes also sold separately for the 105
Trade-offs
- Bristle main brush, not rubber
- Listed for 105 Series robots only
Best for the AutoWash Combo
iRobot Roomba Plus 400 and 500 Replenishment Kit
The refresh kit for the Roomba Plus 400 and 500 Combo with the AutoWash dock. Three filters, three edge brushes and a multi-surface rubber brush.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You have a Plus 400 or 500 Combo and want to restock the vacuum side of the robot.
- Skip it if
- You need mop pads; this kit is filters and brushes only, and the listing does not mention pads.
The title names the Roomba Plus 400 and 500 Combo robot with the AutoWash dock, while the first feature line mentions the Plus 405 and 505 Combo. Both describe the same family, so look at your robot's printed name before you buy.
The box holds three filters, three edge-sweeping brushes and one Multi-Surface Rubber Brush. The listing says the rubber brush stays in contact with carpets and hard floors, and that a worn brush does not clean effectively. It says nothing about mop pads or about the AutoWash dock, so those are separate questions for the manual.
What stands out
- Filters, edge brushes and main brush together
- Rubber main brush, not bristle
- Made for the AutoWash Combo robots
Trade-offs
- Title and body name the model slightly differently
- No mop parts included or described
Roomba Filters and Brushes
If your kit is nearly full or you only need one part, the individual packs below are the way to go. These are the parts people search for most: Roomba filters, the edge-sweeping brush and the main brushes.
Best for Roomba filters
iRobot Roomba e, i and j Series High-Efficiency Filters
The standard filter refill for the letter-series robots. Three high-efficiency filters, with the fit and the exceptions spelled out.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You have an e, i or j Roomba and want to swap filters without paying for brushes you do not need.
- Skip it if
- You own an 800 or 900 Series robot; the filter below is the right one for those.
iRobot says these filters help Roomba robots capture particles and stop them re-entering the air as the robot cleans, and that the High-Efficiency Filter captures and traps 99% of dog and cat dander allergens. The listing names the e Series, the i Series, the j Series and the Combo i5 and j5 as compatible.
It also states that the filters are not compatible with the Roomba Combo j7+ or the Combo j9+. A three-pack is the same count as the filters inside the e, i and j replenishment kit, so you pay for the filters alone. The listing gives no replacement interval, so follow the manual.
What stands out
- Three filters per pack
- Compatibility and exceptions are stated
- Described as trapping 99% of dog and cat dander allergens
Trade-offs
- Not compatible with Combo j7+ or Combo j9+
- No replacement interval stated
Best for older Roomba filters
iRobot Roomba 800 and 900 Series High-Efficiency Filters
The correct filter for the 800 and 900 Series, in a pack of three. iRobot says it captures 99% of allergens, pollen and particles as small as 10 microns.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You own an 800 or 900 Series robot and your filter looks grey or clogged.
- Skip it if
- You own any other series; the listing says these filters are for the 800 and 900 Series only.
This is the cheapest way to look after an 800 or 900 Series Roomba, because the filter is the part that most directly affects suction. The listing says a dirty filter weakens the robot's suction power, so it is important to replace the filter regularly, but it does not say how often.
The pack holds three AeroForce High-Efficiency Filters. iRobot lists them as compatible with Roomba 800 and 900 Series robots only, so they will not work in the letter-series robots above. The warranty on this part is stated as one year.
What stands out
- Three filters per pack
- Stated to capture 99% of allergens, pollen and particles as small as 10 microns
- Made by iRobot
Trade-offs
- 800 and 900 Series only
- No replacement interval stated
Best Roomba brush replacement for e, i and j
iRobot Roomba Edge-Sweeping Brush 3-Pack (Combo, i, e, j)
The easy side brush swap for e, i and j robots, the Combo robots and the Combo 10 Max. Three brushes, fitted with a coin or a similar household item.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- Your side brush is bent, frayed or no longer reaches the wall.
- Skip it if
- You own an 800 or 900 Series robot; its side brushes come only in the kit above.
The listing says the brushes are for Roomba e, i and j Series robot vacuums, and the title adds the Roomba Combo and the Combo 10 Max. They are described as easy to install and remove with a coin or a similar household item, and as reaching along edges to remove dirt, dust and debris.
This is the one replacement brush that most owners will buy more than once. The pack holds three, so it can cover several swaps. As with every part on this page, the listing does not give a changing interval, and the manual is the place to look.
What stands out
- Three brushes per pack
- Fitted with a coin, no tools
- Fits e, i, j, Combo and Combo 10 Max
Trade-offs
- Not for the 800 and 900 Series
- No replacement interval stated
Best for current entry-level Roombas
iRobot Roomba Edge-Sweeping Brush (405, 205, 105)
The side brush for the current entry and mid-range lines: 405, 205, 105 and Essential, in a three-pack.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You own a Roomba 105, 205, 405 or Essential robot and need new side brushes.
- Skip it if
- You own an e, i or j robot; use the three-pack listed for those instead.
The compatibility list on this listing is the longest on the page. It names the Roomba Plus 405 Combo with AutoWash dock, the 205 DustCompactor Combo and Vac, the 105 Combo and Vac, the 105 Combo and Vac with AutoEmpty dock, the Combo 2 Essential and Vac 2 Essential with AutoEmpty dock, and the Combo Essential and Vac Essential.
The brushes are angled to sweep debris from edges and corners into the cleaning path. The box holds three, and the listing makes no claim about lifespan. It also says nothing about the kits for those models, so this pack is the way to buy side brushes alone.
What stands out
- Three brushes per pack
- Fits 105, 205, 405 and Essential robots
- Compatibility list is clear and long
Trade-offs
- Not for e, i or j robots
- No replacement interval stated
Best main brush for e, i and j
iRobot Roomba e, i and j Series Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes
The replacement main brush for the e, i and j Series and the Combo and Combo 10 Max robots. A pair of rubber rollers that flex to stay in contact with the floor.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- Your main rollers are worn, split or hold on to pet hair.
- Skip it if
- You own a Roomba Combo Essential; the listing says these brushes are not compatible with it.
iRobot says the Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes do not get tangled with pet hair, and that they adjust and flex to keep constant contact with carpets and hard floors. The listing explains the design: one brush loosens and agitates dirt, the other turns the opposite way to extract and pull it in.
The compatible list is Roomba Combo and i Series, Combo and e Series, Combo, j Series and Combo 10 Max robots. The Combo Essential is excluded. The box holds one set, which is why the e, i and j kit above, which includes a set, is the better buy if you also need filters.
What stands out
- Described as tangle-resistant with pet hair
- Flexes to stay in contact with carpet and hard floor
- Fits e, i, j, Combo and Combo 10 Max
Trade-offs
- Not for the Combo Essential
- One set per box
Roomba Clean Base Bags and Floor Cleaner
If your Roomba empties itself into a Clean Base, the dirt bag is the part you will buy most often. Mopping Combo robots add a second consumable: the floor cleaner. Our guide to the best self-emptying robot vacuums explains how bagged docks work in general.
Best Roomba vacuum bags for i, j and s9+
iRobot Clean Base Dirt Disposal Bags (3)
The bag refill for the Clean Base docks of the i+, j+ and s9+ robots, with the Combo j9+ Auto-Fill and the Combo 10 Max AutoWash dock named too.
- Buy it if
- Your Roomba empties into a Clean Base and you want the standard three-pack.
- Skip it if
- Your robot has no self-emptying dock; there is nothing for a bag to fit.
iRobot says the Dirt Disposal Bags hold dirt and dust so you do not have to think about vacuuming for weeks at a time. The listing names the Roomba i1+, i3+, i4+, i6+, i7+, i8+, j6+, j7+, Combo j7+, j8+ and s9+, the Clean Base Auto-Fill dock for the Combo j9+, and the AutoWash dock for the Combo 10 Max.
The box holds three bags, and the listing gives no capacity in liters or days. A used bag goes in the trash and a new one goes in the dock. For a wider look at what the dock stores and how long it runs, see the guide linked above.
What stands out
- Three bags per pack
- Long, specific compatibility list
- Made by iRobot
Trade-offs
- Bag volume and days of capacity not stated
- Only useful with a Clean Base style dock
Best second option for Clean Base bags
iRobot Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal Bags (3)
A second route to the same iRobot-made bags. The listing says they are authentic parts manufactured by iRobot, in a three-pack, and it is sold by a marketplace seller.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You want an alternative listing for iRobot-made Clean Base bags.
- Skip it if
- You want one clear compatibility list; this listing's title and body say different things.
The title says the three bags are compatible with all Clean Base models, while the first feature line says compatible with all Roomba i7+ Series robots. We read that as a looser listing rather than a different part, but it is a reason to check your own dock's model in the manual before ordering.
The feature list says the kit contains everything you need to help maintain the robot's cleaning performance in one convenient kit, and that the parts are authentic and manufactured by iRobot. It is sold by a marketplace seller rather than by iRobot, which is worth knowing if you care about who ships the box.
What stands out
- Three bags per pack
- Described as authentic parts manufactured by iRobot
Trade-offs
- Title and body give different compatibility
- Sold by a marketplace seller, not iRobot
Best for Roomba Combo mopping
iRobot Hard Floor Cleaner Concentrate
iRobot's own concentrate for its mopping robots, in a 16-ounce bottle. The listing warns that unapproved solutions may cause corrosion and malfunction.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You own a Roomba Combo or a Braava and want the cleaner iRobot itself names.
- Skip it if
- Your robot only vacuums; there is no tank to put it in.
The listing names a wide set of mopping robots, including all Braava robot mops, the Scooba, the Roomba Combo vacuum and mops, the Plus 405 Combo, the 205 DustCompactor Combo, the 105 Combo, the Combo 2 Essential, the Combo Essential, the Combo 10 Max and all Roomba Combo i and j series.
The one warning that matters is in the listing: using unapproved cleaning solutions may cause corrosion and malfunction to mopping robots. The listing points to iRobot's website for the full list of approved solutions. Dilution instructions are not on the listing, so follow the bottle.
What stands out
- Made by iRobot for its own mopping robots
- Wide compatibility list across Combo and Braava robots
Trade-offs
- Dilution not stated on the listing
- Of no use on vacuum-only Roombas
Roomba Replacement Battery
The battery is the one part that ages by itself, and "Roomba replacement battery" is the part people search for most. Two things to know before you shop.
Genuine iRobot Versus Third Party
iRobot's own parts are marked as authentic in the listings above, and its listings say genuine parts are designed to the exact specifications set by iRobot and that non-genuine parts may cut corners on materials, fabrication and quality control. A third-party battery is not an iRobot part. It may still do the job, but it is a different product from a different company, with that company's warranty. This page links one third-party option and does not link an iRobot-made battery.
The Third-Party Option We List
The Tenergy battery below is a 14.4 volt NiMH pack with a rated capacity of 3850 mAh. The listing names compatibility with all models from the 500 and 700 Series and with specific models: 618, 620, 630, 635, 645, 650, 655, 660, 870, 880, Create 2 and Scooba 450. It does not name the 900 Series or any e, i or j model, so do not buy it for those.
Best third-party Roomba replacement battery for older robots
Tenergy 14.4V NiMH Battery for Roomba 500 to 800
A third-party NiMH replacement battery for the 500, 600, 700 and listed 800 Series robots. It is not an iRobot part, and the listing says so by its brand.
- Budget
- Buy it if
- You own an older Roomba on the compatibility list and the battery no longer holds a charge.
- Skip it if
- You own a 900 Series, e, i or j robot, or you want a battery made by iRobot.
Tenergy states that the pack has up to 1000 recharge cycles and a low self-discharge rate, so the battery should degrade at a slower rate over time. Those are the seller's claims, not iRobot's, and we cannot compare them with iRobot's own batteries from the listing alone.
The listing also says the pack comes with a 12-month extended warranty for manufacturer defects and lifetime technical support, and includes bonus accessories: two brushes for the 500, 600 and 700 Series, two brushes for the 800 Series and one brush cleaning comb. Treat the extra brushes as a bonus, not as a reason to skip the kits above.
What stands out
- 14.4V 3850mAh NiMH pack
- Up to 1000 recharge cycles, per the seller
- 12-month warranty stated, with bonus brushes and a cleaning tool
Trade-offs
- Not an iRobot part
- Listing names older series only, not the 900, e, i or j
How Often to Replace Each Part
None of the listings we read gives a number of months for any part. What they do give is a clear reason to replace each one, and that is the honest basis for a schedule. For exact intervals, check your Roomba's manual or iRobot's parts page.
Filters
The 800 and 900 Series filter listing says a dirty filter weakens the robot's suction power and that it is important to replace the filter regularly. If the robot sounds the same but picks up less, the filter is the first thing to look at. The kits include three, so you have spares.
Brushes
The kit listings say a worn brush does not clean effectively, and the same line appears for the edge brushes and the main brushes. Look at your own: bent bristles, a split rubber roller or a side brush that no longer reaches the wall are the signs. The edge brush is the part most owners swap most often.
Bags and Battery
The bag listing says the bags hold dirt "for weeks at a time", without a figure. For a bag, replace it when the dock or the app tells you it is full. For the battery, replace it when it stops holding a charge through a normal clean. Our guide to how to clean a robot vacuum covers the other upkeep, such as wiping sensors and clearing hair from the roller.
