The Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuums of 2026
Eight current robots with a dock that empties the bin for you, compared on the thing that sets them apart: how the dock stores the dirt, for how many days the maker says it can, and what you have to keep buying.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no cost to you. How we make money.
The best self-emptying robot vacuums in 2026 all do the same trick: the robot returns to a dock, the dock pulls the dirt out of its small bin, and you deal with it every few weeks instead of after every run. Where they differ is in what happens next. Some docks seal the dirt in a disposable bag. Some keep it in a bin you empty yourself. And the number of days a maker promises between emptyings ranges from 30 to 120.
This guide is built around the dock. Below are eight self-emptying robot vacuums sold today, how each stores the dirt, the capacity the maker states, who each one suits and who should look elsewhere. For a wider look at robots with every kind of feature, begin with our guide to the best robot vacuums.

How We Choose
We do not run a test lab, and we will not pretend to. Every pick here was chosen by reading the maker's own listing for each current model, line by line, and comparing all eight on the same points that decide whether a dock suits your home. We report what the maker states and say so. Where a listing does not state something, the table says "not stated" rather than guess.
-
Bagged or bagless
Whether the dock seals dirt in a disposable bag or keeps it in a bin you empty.
-
Stated days of capacity
How long the maker says the dock runs between emptyings, always as its own figure.
-
Bag size
The bag volume in liters, where the listing gives it.
-
Filter
Whether the dock or robot names a HEPA filter, and what it says it captures.
-
Noise when emptying
Only if the maker states it. None of the eight did.
-
Robot navigation
LiDAR, 3D sensing or structured light, and what the robot avoids.
-
Mop
Whether the robot mops, and how it handles carpet if it does.
-
Replacement supply
The bags, filters and brushes you will buy again, and what ships in the box.

Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuums Compared
The table puts the eight side by side on the dock first and the robot second. The days are what each maker states, and they are best-case figures, so treat them as a way to compare, not a promise for your home.

The Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuums, Reviewed
Each review opens with the short verdict, then who should buy it and who should not. The detail underneath is for when two picks look close. Every figure is the maker's own, taken from its listing.
Top pick · Best overall self-emptying robot vacuum
Roborock Q7 M5+
The all-round self-emptying pick. A 2.7 L sealed bag that Roborock says lasts 7 to 9 weeks, LiDAR navigation, and a mop for the days you want one.
- Mid-range
- Dock type Bagged, sealed
- Capacity 7 to 9 weeks
- Bag size 2.7 L
- Mop Yes, 3 water levels
- Buy it if
- You want a dock you can forget for a couple of months, a robot that also mops lightly, and you are happy to buy replacement bags.
- Skip it if
- You want a bagless dock; this one uses a sealed bag you replace.
The Q7 M5+ leads on balance. Its RockDock Plus collects dirt into a sealed 2.7 L dust bag that Roborock says lasts 7 to 9 weeks, and the maker rates suction at 10,000 Pa. PreciSense LiDAR maps the home, and the app handles schedules, spot cleans and no-go zones.
The robot also mops. Roborock lists three adjustable water flow settings for vacuuming and mopping in one pass, but the listing does not describe the mop type or any washing at the dock. For hair, the JawScrapers main brush and a side brush that Roborock calls 0% hair-tangling are meant for long-haired pets.
The listing does not name a filter for the dock, and the app supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. It sits in the mid-range tier of the picks here.
What stands out
- 2.7 L sealed bag rated for 7 to 9 weeks
- LiDAR navigation with no-go zones
- Vacuums and mops in one run
- JawScrapers main brush for pet hair
Trade-offs
- Uses disposable bags
- Dock filter not stated
- App supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Best simple self-emptying robot
iRobot Roomba 105 Vac AutoEmpty
The easy one. A vacuum-only Roomba with LiDAR mapping and a dock that iRobot says runs up to 75 days before a new bag.
- Mid-range
- Dock type Bagged
- Capacity Up to 75 days
- Mop No mop
- Navigation ClearView LiDAR
- Buy it if
- You want clean floors with the least setup: a robot that empties itself, a simple app and neat rows.
- Skip it if
- You want a mop; this one is vacuum only.
The Roomba 105 Vac is the least complicated robot here. iRobot's AutoEmpty dock takes the dirt into a bag the maker says traps 99% of allergens as small as 0.7 microns, so there is no cloud of dust when you swap it: you drop the used bag in the trash and put a new one in the base. iRobot says that is up to 75 days of hands-free cleaning.
ClearView LiDAR maps the home and steers around obstacles, and sensors prevent falls down stairs. Cleaning is a three-stage system with a multi-surface brush and an edge-sweeping brush. Spot cleaning repeats an area for up to 5 minutes. It works with Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant, and needs a 2.4 GHz network.
The bag volume is not stated, and neither is suction in pascals. iRobot compares the suction with its older 600 series, which tells you nothing about other brands.
What stands out
- Dock stated to run up to 75 days
- Bag stated to trap 99% of allergens to 0.7 microns
- LiDAR mapping, simple app
- Spot cleaning for up to 5 minutes
Trade-offs
- No mop
- Bag volume and suction in Pa not stated
- Needs a 2.4 GHz network
Best Shark with a 60-day base
Shark Navigator AV2120
The Shark pick for carpet and hard floors. A 60-day self-emptying base, row-by-row mapping and a self-cleaning brushroll for hair.
- Mid-range
- Dock type Bag type not stated
- Capacity 60 days
- Navigation Spot LiDAR
- Suction Not stated in Pa
- Buy it if
- You like the Shark app and want a self-emptying robot for mixed floors and a pet or two.
- Skip it if
- You need the dock type confirmed up front; the listing does not say whether the base uses a bag.
The Navigator's headline is the 60-day self-emptying base. Shark's SmartPath Navigation uses spot LiDAR to map the home and clean in a row-by-row pattern, which Shark says gives up to 1.5X more coverage than its older ION robots. It detects and avoids objects, and recharge and resume sends it back to finish a clean after charging.
For hair, Shark describes a self-cleaning brushroll designed to be anti-hair wrap. Control is through the Shark app or by voice. The box includes the robot, the charging base and three side brushes.
The listing does not say if the base is bagged or bagless, does not give the bin size or any filter, and compares its suction only to an unnamed competitor, so none of those are in the table. If a dock filter matters to you, the AI Ultra below states one. For other robots from the brand, see our Shark ION reviews.
What stands out
- Base stated to run for 60 days
- Row-by-row spot LiDAR mapping
- Self-cleaning brushroll, anti-hair wrap
- Recharge and resume
Trade-offs
- Bag or bagless not stated
- No filter or suction rating in Pa
- No mop stated
Best bagless self-emptying robot
Shark AI Ultra AV2501S
The bagless pick. A base that holds up to 30 days of dirt in a bin, with true HEPA filtration, so there are no bags to buy.
- Mid-range
- Dock type Bagless
- Capacity Up to 30 days
- Bag size No bag
- Filter True HEPA, 99.97% to 0.3 microns
- Buy it if
- You do not want to keep buying dust bags, and you are happy to empty a bin about once a month.
- Skip it if
- You want the longest time between emptyings; 30 days is the shortest stated here.
Shark's AI Ultra takes the other route from the bagged docks: a bagless, self-emptying base that holds up to 30 days of dirt and debris. Shark says its true HEPA filtration captures and traps 99.97% of dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns, the only HEPA claim in this group. You empty a bin, not a bag.
Matrix Clean Navigation cleans in a grid with multiple passes over dirt, and 360° LiDAR maps the home. The self-cleaning brushroll and the HEPA system are Shark's answer for pet hair and dander. Runtime is listed at up to 120 minutes, and with Recharge and Resume the robot returns to the dock and carries on.
Suction in pascals is not stated, there is no mop on the listing, and the 30 days is a smaller figure than the bagged docks. Control works by voice with Alexa or Google Assistant.
What stands out
- Bagless, no dust bags to buy
- True HEPA filtration stated at 99.97% to 0.3 microns
- 360° LiDAR with Matrix Clean grid
- Up to 120 minutes of runtime
Trade-offs
- Shortest stated capacity here, 30 days
- No mop stated
- Suction in Pa not stated
Best for the longest stated capacity
Dreame D20 Air Plus
The longest stretch between bags. A 4 L sealed bag that Dreame says holds up to 120 days of dirt, with 20,000 Pa suction.
- Mid-range
- Dock type Bagged, self-sealing
- Capacity Up to 120 days
- Bag size 4 L
- Filter Bag locks in 99.9% of allergens
- Buy it if
- You want to change the bag as rarely as possible, and your floors are a mix of carpet and hard floor.
- Skip it if
- You want a dock that washes the mop; the listing does not state any washing.
Dreame states that the optimized auto-empty dock holds up to 120 days, or 4 months, of dust, pet hair and debris in a 4 L sealed bag, and that the self-sealing bag locks in 99.9% of allergens. That is the longest stated capacity of the eight, and the largest bag volume.
Suction is rated at 20,000 Pa. The main brush removes hair as it cleans and the side brush has an anti-tangle design. The robot also mops: an electronic water tank offers adjustable flow, from a light refresh to a deeper wash. LiDAR navigation maps the home and avoids furniture in the dark.
The listing says the robot supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only and is for use in the USA. How the mop behaves on carpet is not stated, and the listing does not say the dock washes it, so see our robot vacuum and mop combos if you want that.
What stands out
- Up to 120 days stated, the longest of the eight
- 4 L self-sealing bag
- 20,000 Pa suction rating
- Vacuums and mops together
Trade-offs
- Mop washing at the dock not stated
- Carpet behavior of the mop not stated
- Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Best lower-tier self-emptying robot
Lefant M2 Plus
The self-emptying robot in the lowest tier here. A 75-day station with two 2.5 L bags in the box, LiDAR mapping and a mop holder.
- Budget
- Dock type Bagged
- Capacity Up to 75 days
- Bag size 2.5 L, two supplied
- Mop Yes, 300 mL tank
- Buy it if
- You want a self-emptying dock without paying for the mid-range tier, and you have mostly small, easy-to-clean floors.
- Skip it if
- You want strong suction or a hot-water mop dock; this is a modest robot.
Lefant's M2 Plus is the lowest-tier robot in this group. Its bag-compatible station is stated at up to 75 days of hands-free cleaning, and the box includes two 2.5 L dust bags, so the first two bag changes are covered. The auto-empty function makes sure the robot's small 250 mL dustbin is empty before each job.
Suction is rated at 6,000 Pa, the second-lowest rating stated in the group, with three suction levels and three water flow levels from a 300 mL tank. The mop holder attaches to the robot, and with it on, carpet detection makes the robot avoid carpets. With the holder off, it boosts suction on carpet.
Navigation is 360° LiDAR with multi-floor mapping and no-go zones. The M2 Plus is the only pick here that lists dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. For more low-tier options, see our best cheap robot vacuums.
What stands out
- Up to 75 days stated
- Two 2.5 L bags in the box
- Dual-band Wi-Fi
- Multi-floor mapping with LiDAR
Trade-offs
- 6,000 Pa suction
- Small 250 mL robot dustbin
- Mop holder means avoiding carpet, not mopping it
Best for mopping that lifts on carpet
Roborock Q10 S5+
The self-emptying robot for mixed floors. A 2.7 L bag stated at up to 70 days, a vibrating sonic mop that lifts up to 8 mm on carpet, and structured light for obstacles.
- Mid-range
- Dock type Bagged
- Capacity Up to 70 days
- Bag size 2.7 L
- Mop Sonic, lifts up to 8 mm
- Buy it if
- You have rugs and hard floors together and want the robot to keep the mop off the carpet.
- Skip it if
- You want a dock that washes the mop; the listing does not state any washing.
The dock holds a 2.7 L dust bag that Roborock says provides up to 70 days of maintenance-free cleaning. The robot's VibraRise 2.0 mop is a dual-zone sonic system, with scrubbing up to 3000 times per minute, and it lifts up to 8 mm on carpets. Ultrasonic carpet detection also raises suction on rugs.
Navigation combines PreciSense LiDAR, which supports multi-level mapping, with ReactiveTech structured light for obstacles. Suction is rated at 10,000 Pa, and the JawScrapers Comb main brush with a specialized side brush is meant to reduce hair tangling.
The app handles schedules, emptying modes, carpet boost and mopping levels, and works with Alexa and Google Home. The Q10 S5+ supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. The listing does not name a dock filter.
What stands out
- 2.7 L bag stated at up to 70 days
- Sonic mop lifts up to 8 mm on carpet
- LiDAR plus structured light
- Multi-level mapping
Trade-offs
- Mop washing at the dock not stated
- Dock filter not stated
- Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Best for mapping with 3D detection
Ecovacs Deebot TEO+
The mapping-first pick. LiDAR and dToF sensors, 3D object detection, a 2.5 L dust bag stated at 60 days, and an oscillating mop.
- Mid-range
- Dock type Bagged, auto-seal
- Capacity Up to 60 days
- Bag size 2.5 L
- Mop Oscillating, 4 water levels
- Buy it if
- You care most about accurate mapping and object detection, and your vacuuming needs are modest.
- Skip it if
- You want strong suction; at 3,000 Pa this is the lowest rating of the eight.
The Deebot TEO+ spends its effort on navigation. Ecovacs says LiDAR and dToF sensors generate maps that are more accurate than vSLAM and camera-based systems, and TrueDetect 3D detects objects in real time to avoid collisions and entanglements. You can draw a no-mop zone and set cleaning preferences by area in the app.
The auto-empty station takes a 2.5 L dust bag that Ecovacs says holds two months of debris, staying maintenance free for 60 days, with an auto-seal design to keep the mess contained. The mop is an OZMO Pro 2.0 oscillating system with 4-level water adjustment.
Suction is rated at 3,000 Pa. Ecovacs also lists a built-in air freshener in the robot. The listing does not name a filter or a brush design.
What stands out
- LiDAR plus dToF mapping with 3D detection
- 2.5 L bag stated at up to 60 days
- Oscillating mop with 4 water levels
- No-mop zones in the app
Trade-offs
- 3,000 Pa, the lowest suction rating here
- Filter and brush design not stated
- Mop washing at the dock not stated
Bagged vs Bagless Docks
There are two ways a dock can hold the dirt it pulls out of the robot. The choice decides what you buy later and how clean the emptying is.
Bagged Docks
Six of the eight use a disposable bag: the Roborock Q7 M5+, Roomba 105 Vac, Dreame D20 Air Plus, Lefant M2 Plus, Roborock Q10 S5+ and Ecovacs Deebot TEO+. The dirt goes into a sealed bag, and you lift the bag out and drop it in the trash without opening it. Makers lean on this for allergies: iRobot says its bag traps 99% of allergens to 0.7 microns and Dreame says 99.9%. The cost is that you keep buying bags.
Bagless Docks
A bagless dock holds the dirt in a bin and filters the air as it goes. The Shark AI Ultra is the one bagless pick, with true HEPA filtration, and empties for up to 30 days. Bagless docks also exist among other brands: the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai lists a cyclonic bin stored for up to 100 days, and the Ecovacs X12S OmniCyclone empties into a reusable container. No bags to buy, but you handle the dirt yourself when you empty the bin.
Docks That Do Not Say
The Shark Navigator AV2120 lists a 60-day self-emptying base but not whether it is bagged. Ask before you buy if a bag matters to you, and look at the pet-focused picks in our best robot vacuums for pet hair if hair is the main worry.
What "Up to 75 Days" Really Means
Every maker states its dock capacity in days. The figure is useful for comparing docks, but it is not a measured result for your home. Here is how to read it.
Days Are a Best Case
A day count depends on how often the robot runs, how big the home is and how much dirt it picks up. The listings do not give the assumptions, so a stated 75 days is the maker's own best case. Roborock gives a range, 7 to 9 weeks, which is about 49 to 63 days. ILIFE ties its 250 days on the A30s Plus to five dust bags in the box with a 2.2 L station, which works out to about 50 days per bag.
A House With Shedding Pets
If you have a dog or cat that sheds, a bag fills sooner than the stated days, because hair is bulky even when it is light. Plan to check the dock earlier than the number suggests. A bigger bag buys you margin: the 4 L bag on the Dreame D20 Air Plus holds more than the 2.5 to 2.7 L bags of the others.
Days Are Not Weeks of Cleaning
Capacity is also not the same as cleaning quality. A long dock capacity helps only if the robot's own small bin and its brushes keep up; that is why the table lists navigation and mop details beside the days.
The Cost You Keep Paying: Bags and Filters
A self-emptying dock moves the chore from the robot to the dock, and with it the running cost. We do not print prices because they change daily, but we can tell you what you will be buying.
Bags
Bagged docks need a replacement bag every time the stated capacity runs out. Lefant ships two 2.5 L bags with the M2 Plus, and ILIFE's A30s Plus comes with five. For the others the listings do not say how many bags are in the box. Before you buy a bagged dock, search for the bag by model name, and check that the maker sells it, since a robot with no available bag is a robot with a short life.
Filters
Bagless docks trade bags for filters. The Shark AI Ultra lists a true HEPA filter, and HEPA filters wear out and need washing or replacing. The listings here do not say how often, so look up the replacement schedule in the manual.
Brushes and Pads
The brushes and mop pads on every robot above wear out too. That includes the anti-tangle brushes, such as the JawScrapers on the Roborock models. For a budget-minded shortlist that includes self-emptying robots, our guide to the best cheap robot vacuums sorts them by tier.
