Shark vs Roborock: Which Robot Vacuum Wins at Each Tier
Five same-tier pairs, from a budget duo to a premium duo, so you compare like with like: what each maker states about navigation, the dock, the mop, hair and the app.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no cost to you. How we make money.
Shark vs Roborock is a hard question to answer in general, because each brand sells robots at very different levels. A budget Shark and a premium Roborock are not the same kind of machine, so comparing them tells you about the price, not the brand.
So this guide compares them tier by tier. There are five pairs: a budget pair, a self-emptying pair, a vacuum and mop pair, an upper mid-range pair and a premium pair. In each, the two robots sit in the same price tier, so what you read is what each brand gives you at that level. We do not print prices, because they change daily. We read the makers' own listings and report what they state.
The short version: Roborock's listings put numbers on suction, dock temperatures and mop lift. Shark's listings lean on named technologies, a 60-day base and pads that wash and dry themselves. For a closer look at each brand, see our Shark robot vacuum reviews and our Roborock robot vacuum reviews.
How We Compare
We do not run a test lab, and we will not pretend to. Every comparison here comes from reading each maker's own listing, line by line. We pair the robots by price tier first, because a brand comparison across tiers is not fair to either brand. Where a listing is silent, we write "not stated".
-
Same tier
Each pair sits in the same price tier. We never print a price.
-
Navigation

Budget: Shark Navigator RV2110 vs Roborock Q7 L5
The first pair is the entry model each brand has in this comparison. Both map the home and both are built for people who want a tidy floor without much setup. The big difference is that one of them mops.

Best budget Shark for plain vacuuming
Shark Navigator RV2110
Shark's budget entry. SmartPath Navigation cleans in a row-by-row pattern, and the self-cleaning brushroll is described as anti-hair-wrap.
- Budget
- Navigation SmartPath, spot LiDAR, row by row
- Suction Not stated in Pa
- Dock Charges only
- Mop No mop
- Buy it if
- You want a Shark at the lowest tier, and a vacuum is all you need.
- Skip it if
- You want a mop or a suction figure in Pa; this listing gives neither.
Shark says SmartPath Navigation uses spot LiDAR to map the home, and that the robot detects and avoids objects in its path. It recharges and resumes where it left off, and you can start a clean for the whole home, a room or a spot by app or voice. Shark states up to 50% more suction than a competitor robot vacuum and up to 1.5X more coverage than its own Shark ION, but the listing gives no pascal figure, runtime or bin size.
What stands out
- Self-cleaning brushroll, described as anti-hair-wrap
- Row-by-row mapping with object avoidance
- Recharges and resumes where it left off
Trade-offs
- Suction, runtime and bin size are not stated
- No dock emptying and no mop
- Warranty not stated
Best budget Roborock for vacuum and mop
Roborock Q7 L5
Roborock's budget entry. It lists 8,000 Pa HyperForce suction, 360° LiDAR, a 270 ml water tank for mopping at the same time and a dual anti-tangle brush system.
- Budget
- Suction 8,000 Pa
- Dock Charges only
- Mop 270 ml tank, three water levels
- Hair Dual anti-tangle brushes
- Buy it if
- You want one budget robot to vacuum and lightly mop, with no-go zones and a 1 year warranty.
- Skip it if
- You want a dock that empties the bin; this one only charges.
Roborock rates the Q7 L5 at 8,000 Pa and pairs a main brush with a zero-tangle side brush to prevent hair wrap. The mop uses a removable pad and three water levels. In the app you can schedule cleaning for specific times or rooms, set no-go zones and turn on a child lock, and Alexa and Google Home handle voice commands. The robot suggests no-go zones around cables and table legs. It supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which is worth checking on your router. The listing says it saves multiple floor maps.
What stands out
- 8,000 Pa stated suction
- Vacuums and mops in one pass with a 270 ml tank
- No-go zones, room schedules and a child lock in the app
- 1 year warranty
Trade-offs
- Dock only charges, so you empty the bin by hand
- Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
- Mop is a removable pad, not a washing dock
Which One to Pick
Pick the Roborock Q7 L5 if you want one robot to cover vacuuming and light mopping and you like to see a pascal figure before you buy. Pick the Shark Navigator RV2110 if you only want a vacuum with a brushroll built against hair wrap and you prefer the Shark app. Both docks only charge, so neither saves you the chore of emptying the bin. If you want that, move to the next pair. The Q7 name continues in our Roborock Q series guide.
Self-Emptying: Shark Navigator AV2120 vs Roborock Q7 M5+
Add a self-emptying dock to the picture and you get the second pair. Both docks empty for roughly two months. The difference is what each robot does between empties.

Best Shark self-emptying vacuum
Shark Navigator AV2120
The Navigator with a self-emptying base. Shark's title lists a 60-day base, and the text lists LiDAR mapping, SmartPath navigation and a self-cleaning brushroll.
- Mid-range
- Buy it if
- You want a Shark that empties itself and a brush built against hair wrap, and you do not need a mop.
- Skip it if
- You want a mop, or you need the listing to say whether the dock uses bags or a bin.
Shark's text for the AV2120 repeats the RV2110 claims: row-by-row coverage, object detection and a self-cleaning brushroll. The new part is the base. The box contents list the robot, the charging base and three side brushes. The listing does not say whether the base uses bags or a bin, and it gives no pascal figure.
What stands out
- 60-day self-emptying base
- LiDAR mapping and SmartPath navigation
- Anti-hair-wrap brushroll
- Three side brushes in the box
Trade-offs
- Bag or bin is not stated
- No mop
- Suction in Pa and warranty are not stated
Best Roborock self-emptying vacuum and mop
Roborock Q7 M5+
The Roborock answer to the Navigator, with a mop added. It lists 10,000 Pa, a RockDock Plus with a 2.7 L sealed bag and 7 to 9 weeks between empties.
- Mid-range
- Buy it if
- You have pets, want hands-free bin emptying and also want light mopping.
- Skip it if
- You want a washing dock; the mop here is not described as self-washing.
Roborock says the JawScrapers main brush and a 0% hair-tangling side brush resist wrap, even from long-haired pets. PreciSense LiDAR plans the route, three water levels set the mop, and the app handles schedules, spot cleans and no-go zones around pet areas. The listing notes 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. The robot's own height is not stated.
What stands out
- 10,000 Pa stated suction
- Sealed 2.7 L bag, 7 to 9 weeks between empties
- Vacuums and mops in one pass
- Dual anti-tangle brush system
Trade-offs
- Bags are a recurring purchase
- Mop washing and drying are not described
- Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Which One to Pick
Pick the Roborock Q7 M5+ if you want the dock and a mop in the same robot, since the Navigator AV2120 only vacuums. Pick the Shark Navigator AV2120 if you want a simple vacuum with a 60-day base and the Shark app. Because 60 days and 7 to 9 weeks are close, the dock window is not the deciding factor here. The mop, the stated suction and the bag question are.
Vacuum and Mop: Shark PowerDetect AV2800ZE vs Roborock Qrevo S Pro

Best Shark vacuum and mop at the middle tier
Shark PowerDetect AV2800ZE
A complete Shark routine. It empties into a 60-day bin, refills its own tank for up to 30 days, and washes and dries the mopping pad after every clean.
- Mid-range
- Buy it if
- You want a mop dock that looks after its own water and pad, and you like the Shark app.
- Skip it if
- You want a pascal figure or the robot's height; the listing gives neither.
Shark lists 360° LiDAR with 3D sensors, DirtDetect and StainDetect modes, EdgeDetect air for corners and a mop pad that extends up to an inch along edges. NeverStuck lets the robot lift itself over thresholds, and the pad stays above carpet when mopping. Box contents include three mopping pads, two odor cartridges, two side brushes and a 12 oz bottle of Shark cleaner. The SharkClean app handles target spots, no-go zones, a home map and schedules.
What stands out
- Tank refills itself for up to 30 days
- Pad washes and dries after every clean
- SharkClean app with no-go zones and a home map
- Three pads and two cartridges in the box
Trade-offs
- Suction in Pa and robot height are not stated
- Hair brush is not described
- Warranty not stated
Best Roborock vacuum and mop at the middle tier
Roborock Qrevo S Pro
The Roborock answer at this tier. It lists 18,500 Pa, a dock with a 2.7 L sealed bag, a 167°F mop wash with 113°F drying, and mops that lift 10 mm on carpet.
- Mid-range
- Buy it if
- You have mixed floors with rugs, pets in the house and want the stated detail.
- Skip it if
- You want the listing to say the dock refills the tank by itself; it does not.
Roborock says the robot adapts to carpet with boosted suction, 10 mm mop lifting and custom cleaning modes. SmartPlan 2.0 adjusts settings to your layout, floor types and cleaning history, and the maker rates the noise level at 55 dB. A zero-tangle side brush, an all-rubber main brush and an omnidirectional wheel are listed against hair wrap. Roborock says it cleans in 3.8 in low-clearance spaces under beds and sofas. It supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.
What stands out
- 18,500 Pa stated suction
- 167°F mop self-cleaning and 113°F warm air drying
- Mop lifts 10 mm on carpet
- 1 year warranty
Trade-offs
- Bags are a recurring purchase
- Tank refilling by the dock is not stated
- Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Which One to Pick
Pick the Shark AV2800ZE if the self-refilling tank matters most. Shark states up to 30 days without touching the water, and nothing like that appears on the Qrevo S Pro listing. Pick the Roborock Qrevo S Pro if you have rugs or care about the numbers, since it states suction in Pa, the mop wash temperature and how far the mops lift. If you are weighing a mop dock more broadly, our guide to robot vacuum and mop combos covers the rest of the field.
Upper Mid-Range: Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch RV2820YE vs Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro
The fourth pair steps up a notch. The Shark gets the five PowerDetect technologies in a base that handles the whole routine. The Roborock gets a longer list of mop and edge features.

Best Shark for a hands-off month
Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch RV2820YE
Shark's upper mid-range all-in-one. The base empties for 60 days, refills for 30, and washes and dries the pad after every clean.
- Premium
- Buy it if
- You like the Shark app and want a dock that runs for about a month untouched.
- Skip it if
- You want numbers to compare: suction, hair handling and warranty are not stated.
Shark lists five PowerDetect technologies, among them DirtDetect, StainDetect and EdgeDetect, plus NeverStuck lifting over thresholds and a pad that stays above carpet when mopping. The title gives 360° LiDAR, a 60-day self-empty, a 30-day refill and pad drying. The text says the robot empties into the 60-day-capacity bin. The listing is largely descriptive and gives few measured figures.
What stands out
- Dock empties, refills and dries the pad
- NeverStuck lifts over obstacles and thresholds
- Five PowerDetect technologies for stains, dirt and edges
Trade-offs
- Suction in Pa is not stated
- Hair handling is not described
- Warranty not stated
Best Roborock for edges and mixed floors
Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro
A longer feature list than the Shark. Roborock lists 20,000 Pa, FlexiArm edge mopping, a 149°F mop wash and a mop that lifts up to 15 mm.
- Premium
- Buy it if
- You have mixed floors and want the mop to reach right up to the wall.
- Skip it if
- You want the listing to give a warranty term or the dock's days between empties; it gives neither.
Roborock says the FlexiArm system extends to clean as close as 1.85 mm along walls, and the reversible side brush gives up to 30% more corner coverage. On carpet the robot removes the mop when needed, vacuums before mopping and boosts suction. The dock empties dust, refills the tank, washes at 149°F, dries with 113°F air and has a cleaning tray with a soaking mode. SmartPlan 3.0 adjusts to your home and cleaning history, and the robot runs at 54 dB. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only.
What stands out
- 20,000 Pa stated suction
- Mop reaches to 1.85 mm from walls
- Mop lifts up to 15 mm and can be removed on carpet
- Dock empties, refills, washes and dries
Trade-offs
- Days between empties and bag size are not stated
- Warranty not stated
- Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Which One to Pick
Pick the Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro if you want the mop to reach edges and the carpet to stay dry, since its listing states 15 mm of lift and mop removal. Pick the Shark RV2820YE if a 60-day empty and 30-day refill are the main draw and you do not need to read a pascal figure. Neither listing states a warranty, so check the term at checkout.
Premium: Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal AV3000XE vs Roborock Saros 10R
The last pair is the top of each range we cover. Both docks wash with hot water and both robots have a camera or an AI layer. The designs go in opposite directions: one adds a UV stain light, the other shrinks the body.

Best premium Shark for stains
Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal AV3000XE
Shark's newest premium model here. It adds UV Stain Detect, HyperSonic mopping and a ThermaCharged base that empties, refills and washes the mop with 185°F water.
- Premium
- Buy it if
- You have pets or kids and want the robot to reveal stains and scrub them.
- Skip it if
- You want suction in Pa, a warranty term or the robot's height; none is stated.
Shark says UV Stain Detect reveals sticky spills and dried-on pet messes, and that HyperSonic mopping packs 7X the scrubbing power of its RV2820ZE. NeuroNav AI maps with RGB sensors, lasers and an UltraRange camera. The listing also names 8 PowerDetect technologies, HEPA filtration and an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal. The NeverStop battery runs for up to 3 hours on bare floors, per Shark. The SharkClean app handles maps, schedules and no-go zones.
What stands out
- UV Stain Detect to reveal hidden messes
- Base washes with 185°F water and dries with 175°F air
- Up to 3 hours runtime, per Shark
- HEPA filtration and a sealed base
Trade-offs
- Suction in Pa is not stated
- Bag or bin is not stated
- Warranty not stated
Best premium Roborock for low furniture
Roborock Saros 10R
Roborock's premium model here. It lists a 3.14 inch body, 22,000 Pa suction, a 10-in-one dock and avoidance of 108 obstacle types.
- Premium
- Buy it if
- You have low beds and sofas and want the most stated detail.
- Skip it if
- You want a stated warranty or runtime; the listing gives neither.
Roborock says the Saros 10R skips the raised LiDAR turret, using StarSight 2.0 3D sensing instead, so it slides under furniture. The AdaptiLift chassis climbs obstacles up to 4 cm, and the dual spinning mops lift on carpet. The dock collects dust for 60 days, refills the tank, adds detergent, washes at 176°F, dries at 131°F and washes itself with hot water. A built-in RGB camera supports two-way video and a pet search, and the Hello Rocky voice assistant works without internet. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only.
What stands out
- 22,000 Pa stated suction
- 3.14 inch slim body for low furniture
- Dock dispenses detergent and dries the mops at 131°F
- Built-in camera and offline voice assistant
Trade-offs
- Warranty and runtime not stated
- Bag or bin is not stated
- Built-in camera is a privacy decision for some homes
Which One to Pick
Pick the Roborock Saros 10R if your furniture is low or you want the longest list of stated figures, from suction to dock temperatures. Pick the Shark AV3000XE if stains and pets are your problem and you value a UV light that shows you where they are. Check the camera on each. The Shark uses an UltraRange camera and the Roborock has a built-in RGB camera, so read each app's privacy settings first. For more Roborock context, see our Roomba vs Roborock comparison.
Bagless vs Bagged Bases
The cost of a robot is not only its price. It is also what you keep buying. We do not print prices, but we can say what each listing implies you will need.
Roborock: Sealed Bags
Roborock states a 2.7 L sealed dust bag on the Q7 M5+ dock, good for 7 to 9 weeks, and the Qrevo S Pro listing repeats that bag. Bags are a recurring purchase, so check what a pack of replacements costs for your exact model. The Qrevo 2 Pro and Saros 10R listings say the dock empties dust but do not say bag or bin.
Shark: Bins
Shark describes its mid-range bases differently. The AV2800ZE and RV2820YE listings say the robot empties "into the 60-day-capacity bin", which is the language of a bin, not a bag. The AV2120 and AV3000XE listings do not say either way, so confirm it on the maker's page before you buy if bags matter to you.
What It Means
If you hate buying consumables, Shark's bin wording is a point in its favor, but only on the two models that use it. If you want sealed dust that you never touch, Roborock's bag wording is a point in its favor. Both brands still need replacement brushes, filters and mop pads, so look up the parts for your exact model.
Mopping: Shark Pads vs Roborock Docks
Mopping is where the two brands differ most, because they solve the same problem in different ways.
Shark: Sonic Pads
Shark's AV2800ZE lists sonic mopping, and both it and the RV2820YE use a pad that extends up to an inch along edges. Each keeps the pad above carpet when mopping. The base refills the tank for up to 30 days and washes and dries the pad after every clean. The newest AV3000XE moves to HyperSonic mopping and a base that washes with 185°F water.
Roborock: Spinning Mops
Roborock uses dual spinning mops. Its mid-range Qrevo S Pro lifts them 10 mm on carpet, and the Qrevo 2 Pro lifts them up to 15 mm and can remove the mop altogether. Its docks state mop wash temperatures from 149°F to 176°F and warm air drying at 113°F to 131°F. The Q7 L5 is the exception: a 270 ml tank and a removable pad, with no washing dock.
Which Approach Fits You
If you want to set up a dock and forget the water, Shark's refill claim is the strongest in this guide. If you have area rugs, Roborock's stated lift heights and mop removal give you more to go on. Neither maker's listing gives a head-to-head cleaning result, so treat both as claims, not guarantees. For a wider look at mop-focused models, see our vacuum and mop guide or our Shark Matrix guide.
