Ecovacs vs Roborock: Which Robot Vacuum Should You Buy
Eight current robots in four matched pairs, Deebot against Roborock at the same rung of the ladder, so you compare like with like and choose the brand that suits your floors.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no cost to you. How we make money.
Ecovacs and Roborock are the two brands that keep landing in the same shopping basket. Both sell robots that vacuum and mop, both run from a phone app, and both have a dock that does more every year. The usual advice, "Roborock for navigation, Ecovacs for mopping", is too blunt to help you pick one robot.
So this page does not rank the brands. It sets eight current models side by side in four matched pairs, one Deebot against one Roborock at the same rung: a first self-emptying dock, an entry washing dock, a mid-range washing dock and the flagships. Inside each pair you see what each maker states for the points that matter at home, and where a listing is silent we say "not stated" instead of guessing.
How We Compare
We do not run a test lab, and we will not pretend to. Every figure on this page is the maker's own, taken from each model's current Amazon US listing and set next to its pair. We attribute the numbers, we say "not stated" when a listing is silent, and we never treat two makers' suction ratings as if they were measured the same way.

Entry Tier: Deebot TEO+ vs Roborock Q7 M5+
This is the lowest rung on the page, and both robots are self-emptying vacuum and mop combos. Both docks only empty the bin, so neither washes its mop for you. The difference is in what each maker builds around that base.
The Matchup
The Ecovacs Deebot TEO+ uses LiDAR and dToF sensors for what Ecovacs calls TrueMapping, TrueDetect 3D object avoidance, and an OZMO Pro 2.0 oscillating mop with four water levels. Its Auto-Empty Station holds a 2.5 L bag that Ecovacs rates for 60 days, and the station carries a built-in air freshener. The suction figure in the title is 3,000 Pa. The Roborock Q7 M5+ states 10,000 Pa, PreciSense LiDAR, a JawScrapers main brush and a 0% hair-tangling side brush, a mop with three water-flow settings and a 2.7 L sealed bag rated for 7 to 9 weeks.

The Two Robots Reviewed
Best for a fresh-smelling, hands-off home
Ecovacs Deebot TEO+
The Deebot for people who want the bin handled for two months and the house to smell clean, and who do not need a big suction number.
- Mid-range
- Suction 3,000 Pa
- Navigation LiDAR + dToF, TrueDetect 3D
- Dock Empties only, with air freshener
- Hands-free Up to 60 days, 2.5 L bag
- Buy it if
- You have mostly hard floors, you want the dock to look after the bin, and you like the idea of a fragrance on the robot.
- Skip it if
- You have deep carpet or heavy shedding pets and want a high stated suction figure.
Ecovacs lists LiDAR and dToF sensors for mapping, real-time object detection so you do not have to pick up first, and area or custom cleaning with virtual boundaries and no-mop zones from the app. The oscillating mop vibrates at high frequency with four water levels. The Auto-Empty Station keeps the mess sealed when the bag is removed. The listing does not say whether the mop lifts on carpet, does not state Wi-Fi bands, and does not describe the hair brush, so check those before you buy for a pet home.
What stands out
- Dock bag rated for up to 60 days
- Laser and dToF mapping with object detection
- Oscillating mop with four water levels
- No-mop zones from the app
Trade-offs
- 3,000 Pa is the lowest suction figure on this page
- Mop lift on carpet not stated
- Dock does not wash the mop
- Wi-Fi bands not stated
Best for pet hair and stated suction at this tier
Roborock Q7 M5+
The stronger spec sheet of the pair, with a number to compare and brushes built for long hair.
- Mid-range
- Suction 10,000 Pa
- Navigation PreciSense LiDAR
- Mop Mop, 3 water-flow settings
- Dock Empties only
- Buy it if
- You have a shedding pet or long hair in the house and want the dock to empty itself.
- Skip it if
- You want the mop washed for you; the listing does not describe mop washing.
Roborock rates the RockDock Plus bag for 7 to 9 weeks and pairs it with PreciSense LiDAR, a JawScrapers main brush and a side brush it calls 0% hair-tangling. The app lets you set no-go zones around pet areas and schedule by room. Mopping has three water-flow settings; the listing does not name the mop type or state a carpet lift. The app works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.
What stands out
- 10,000 Pa stated
- Dock rated for 7 to 9 weeks
- Anti-tangle main and side brushes
- Mop with three water-flow settings
Trade-offs
- Mop washing is not described
- Carpet lift for the mop not stated
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Which One to Pick
Pick the Roborock Q7 M5+ if you want the higher stated suction and brushes aimed at hair. Pick the Deebot TEO+ if the 60 day bag and the built-in air freshener matter more than a pascal figure. Because Ecovacs and Roborock rate suction in their own ways, treat 3,000 Pa against 10,000 Pa as a hint about intent, not a measured gap. Neither dock washes the mop, so the next pair is where that changes. For more of this tier across brands, see our guide to the best robot vacuum and mop combos.
Entry Full Dock: Deebot T50 Pro Omni vs Roborock Qrevo Plus
Here the docks start washing and drying the mops, which is the upgrade that makes a mopping robot genuinely hands-off on hard floors. Both sit in the same price tier.
The Matchup
The Ecovacs Deebot T50 Pro Omni states 15,000 Pa, a 3.19 inch body, ZeroTangle 2.0, TruEdge 2.0 that extends the side brush and mop toward walls, AIVI 3D 3.0 obstacle avoidance, and an OMNI Station that washes the mops with water up to 167°F and dries them with 113°F air. The Roborock Qrevo Plus states 7,000 Pa, a 6-in-1 dock with a 2.7 L bag rated for 7 weeks and a 4 L clean water tank, dual spinning mops at 200 RPM that lift 10 mm, and FlexiArm edge mopping.

The Two Robots Reviewed
Best for low furniture and higher stated suction
Ecovacs Deebot T50 Pro Omni
The Deebot to pick when the sofa is low and you want a washing dock without chasing a flagship.
- Mid-range
- Buy it if
- You have beds and sofas with little clearance, pets that shed, and a mix of carpet and hard floor.
- Skip it if
- You want to know exactly how long the bag lasts or whether the mop lifts over rugs; neither is stated.
Ecovacs lists a 3.19 inch height, 15,000 Pa suction, ZeroTangle 2.0 against hair wrap, and AIVI 3D 3.0 that it says recognizes shoes, toys, cables and furniture. TruEdge 2.0 extends the side brush and mop closer to walls and corners. The OMNI Station washes mops with water up to 167°F and dries them with 113°F air, and the listing calls the robot self-emptying without giving the bag size or a day count. It also lists YIKO-GPT voice control and dirt detection that flags areas needing extra attention. Wi-Fi bands are not stated.
What stands out
- 3.19 inch body for low furniture
- 15,000 Pa stated
- Mop wash up to 167°F and 113°F drying
- Dirt detection and voice control
Trade-offs
- Dust-bag size and day count not stated
- Mop lift on carpet not stated

Best for a full dock with a mop that lifts
Roborock Qrevo Plus
The Roborock for a home with rugs, where a lifting mop and a roomy dock count for more than the suction number.
- Mid-range
- Buy it if
- You have rugs and hard floors in the same rooms and want the dock to hold water and dust for weeks.
- Skip it if
- You need strong stated suction for deep carpet, because 7,000 Pa is the lowest in this pair.
Roborock lists a dock that washes the mops and empties into a 2.7 L bag rated for up to 7 weeks, with a 4 L clean water tank covering 3,552 sq ft. The dual spinning mops turn at 200 RPM with 30 water-flow levels from the app and lift 10 mm. In Carpet First mode the robot sweeps carpets before wetting the mop. The all-rubber brush is described as tangle-resistant for pet hair. Dock wash temperature, robot height and Wi-Fi bands are not stated.
What stands out
- Dock bag rated for up to 7 weeks
- 4 L clean water tank
- Mops lift 10 mm, Carpet First mode
- 30 water-flow levels
Trade-offs
- 7,000 Pa is the lower figure of the pair
- Robot height not stated
- Wash temperature not stated
Which One to Pick
If your biggest worry is furniture clearance, the Deebot T50 Pro Omni is the one with a stated 3.19 inch height and the higher suction number. If rugs and long gaps between chores matter more, the Qrevo Plus states the mop lift, the 7 week bag and a large clean tank. Both wash and dry, so neither choice leaves you wringing out a pad. Roborock's cheaper line is covered in our Roborock Q series guide.
Mid-Range: Deebot T90 Pro Omni vs Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro
This is where the two brands diverge most on mopping. Ecovacs moves to a self-washing roller; Roborock keeps a mop module that removes itself or lifts on carpet. Both sit in the upper price tier of the lineup.
The Matchup
The Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni states 30,000 Pa BLAST suction, a 10.6 inch OZMO Roller 3.0 that washes itself while it mops, a roller lift of 0.6 inches over carpet, ZeroTangle 4.0, PowerBoost charging and an RGB camera for pet checks. The Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro states 20,000 Pa, a Dual Zero-Tangle system, FlexiArm edge mopping to 1.85 mm from walls, a mop module that lifts up to 15 mm, and a dock that empties dust, refills the tank, washes the mop at 149°F and dries it with 113°F air.

Choose the Qrevo 2 Pro when your floors change from room to room and you want the dock to handle emptying as well as washing. If you expect pets and want to compare more models, our pet hair guide sets them side by side.
Flagship: Deebot X12S OmniCyclone vs Roborock Saros 20
These are the top models we cover for each brand, and both are premium. Here the two makers make the sharpest choices about how a robot should mop, what its dock should do with the dust, and how low it should be.
The Matchup
The Ecovacs Deebot X12S OmniCyclone states 53AW of air power instead of a pascal figure, a 10.6 inch roller at 220 RPM with FocusJet Pre-Spray, a Carpet Shield that lifts the roller 0.59 inches and closes a cover, a 3.86 inch body, and a bagless station that empties into a reusable container. The Roborock Saros 20 states 36,000 Pa, a 3.14 inch body, StarSight 2.0 with 3D ToF sensors and an RGB camera that recognizes over 300 obstacles, a 3.46 inch double-layer step, and a dock that washes at 212°F.

The Two Robots Reviewed
Best for bagless upkeep and roller mopping
Ecovacs Deebot X12S OmniCyclone
The Deebot for people who do not want to buy dust bags and who scrub kitchen floors more than they vacuum rugs.
- Premium
- Buy it if
- You want no disposable bags, you have sticky spills on hard floors, and you also have carpet that must stay dry.
- Skip it if
- You want a stated pascal figure to compare, a Wi-Fi band confirmed, or the lowest possible body.
Ecovacs lists 32 water outlets and a scraper on the OZMO Roller 3.0 that scrubs at 220 RPM with up to 16 times the pressure of traditional spinning pads, preceded by FocusJet Pre-Spray. Carpet Shield lifts the wet roller 0.59 inches and closes a protective cover. The OMNICYCLONE station empties debris into a reusable container, washes the roller with temperature-controlled hot water, dries it with 145°F air, dispenses cleaning solution, and cleans itself. PowerBoost PLUS restores up to 13% battery during a 3 minute roller wash, and TruePass handles thresholds without a stated height. Suction is given as 53AW air power, not pascals.
What stands out
- Bagless station, no disposable dust bags
- Pre-spray and roller scrub for dried-on mess
- Carpet Shield cover and 0.59 inch lift
- Recharges during the roller wash
Trade-offs
- Suction not stated in pascals
- Wi-Fi bands not stated
- 3.86 inch body, higher than the Saros 20
- Threshold height not stated
Best for low furniture and tough thresholds
Roborock Saros 20
The Roborock for homes with low sofas, double-layer thresholds and a taste for the hottest mop wash.
- Premium
- Buy it if
- You have low furniture, uneven floors or both, and you accept a camera on the robot.
- Skip it if
- You do not want a camera in the house, or you want a station with no bags to replace.
Roborock lists an AdaptiLift chassis that crosses up to 3.46 in double-layer steps and cleans carpets up to 1.18 in deep, StarSight 2.0 with 3D ToF sensors and an RGB camera, a 36,000 Pa motor, a dual anti-tangle system, and FlexiArm that extends the side brush and mop. The dock washes at 212°F, dries at 131°F and empties for up to 65 days. Mark curtains in the app and the robot cleans behind them. The built-in camera lets you check in on pets, and the Wi-Fi supports 2.4 and 5 GHz.
What stands out
- 3.14 inch body
- Crosses up to 3.46 in double-layer steps
- 212°F mop wash and 131°F drying
- Works on 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi
Trade-offs
- Camera on board
- Up to 65 days of dust, then a bag change
- Mop type not stated beyond the extending design
Which One to Pick
Pick the Deebot X12S OmniCyclone when you are tired of buying bags and your problem is a floor that needs scrubbing. Pick the Saros 20 when clearance and thresholds decide it: it is the lower robot at 3.14 inches against 3.86 and the only one of the two to state a double-layer step height. Both are premium, so the choice is the trade, not the tier. To see how each line fits alongside its siblings, read our Ecovacs reviews and Roborock reviews.
Roller Mops vs Spinning Pads
Across the four pairs, the mop is where Ecovacs and Roborock part ways most clearly. It is worth understanding before you compare any two specific models.
What the Listings Say About Each Design
At the top two rungs Ecovacs uses a 10.6 inch roller on the T90 Pro Omni and X12S OmniCyclone. Ecovacs describes it as pressurized and self-rinsing, and states that the X12S roller scrubs at 220 RPM with up to 16 times the pressure of traditional spinning pads. That is a maker's claim against its own idea of a pad, not a measurement we can confirm. Roborock lists dual spinning mops at 200 RPM on the Qrevo Plus and a FlexiArm that extends the mop to edges on the Qrevo 2 Pro and Saros 20.
Which Suits Which Floor
A roller has a broad contact strip and is the better-stated design for dried-on spills in a kitchen. A pair of spinning mops reaches corners and edges more easily, and Roborock states edge distances as close as 1.85 mm. Over carpet, both brands protect the rug: Ecovacs lifts the roller 0.6 inches, and Roborock lifts 10 to 15 mm or removes the mop on the Qrevo 2 Pro. Whichever you choose, read the carpet lift line first, because the budget pair does not state one on either side. For more on this tier, see our robot vacuum and mop guide.
Bagless OmniCyclone vs Bagged Docks
The dock is the second big difference, and it changes what you buy every few months.
Bagged Docks: Roborock and the Deebot TEO+
The Roborock Q7 M5+ and Qrevo Plus listings state a sealed 2.7 L dust bag rated for 7 to 9 weeks and 7 weeks respectively. The Deebot TEO+ states a 2.5 L bag good for 60 days. The Saros 20 states up to 65 days of dust emptying. The Qrevo 2 Pro and the T50 Pro Omni say the dock empties automatically but give neither a bag size nor a day count, so we cannot compare them. A bagged dock keeps dust sealed when you throw it away, which is useful if you have allergies, and the cost is that you keep buying bags.
The Bagless OmniCyclone Station
The Deebot X12S OmniCyclone is the only robot here to say it needs no disposable bags. Its station collects debris in a reusable container and dries its airway, so you empty a container by hand instead of replacing a bag. Ecovacs does not state how often you must do that. If you dislike the running cost of bags, the X12S is the only model on this page that removes it. If you prefer sealed disposal, a bagged Roborock dock suits you better. For brand-by-brand upkeep, see our Eufy vs Roborock comparison.
