Aiper Scuba S1 and the Scuba Line: Which Model to Buy
Aiper sells six Scuba robots on Amazon US under one family name. Here is the S1 in detail, how it differs from the S3, X1, V3 AI Vision, V3 Ultra and SE, and what each listing leaves unsaid.

The Aiper Scuba S1 is the entry most people land on, and it sits in a family that is easy to mix up. Aiper sells the S1, the S3, the X1, two V3 models and the SE under the Scuba name, with different runtimes, different filters and very different ideas of what a pool robot should clean. The names do not tell you which one suits a given pool, and the listings are not written to be compared.
This page is the model guide. It puts the six current Scuba listings side by side, goes through the S1 in detail, and says plainly where a listing is silent. For the whole brand, including its other lines, see our Aiper pool cleaner reviews; for other makers, start with the best robotic pool cleaners.
Aiper Scuba: The Quick Answer
For most pool owners, the Scuba S1 is the sensible starting point: it is listed with up to 270 minutes of runtime in Eco Mode, a two-layer filter, app scheduling and cleaning of the floor, walls, waterline and shallow areas. Step up to the S3 if waterline scrubbing and an automatic wait-at-the-edge routine matter, to the X1 if you want a wireless charging dock, and to the V3 models only if camera-guided cleaning appeals to you. The SE is a different animal: a small, light robot for flat above-ground pools.
Skip the family if your pool is a hard fit for a battery robot, if you want a robot with a published pool size for every model, or if you would rather have a corded design. The sections below give the detail.

How We Choose
We do not run a test lab, and we will not pretend to. Everything here comes from reading Aiper's own listing for each Scuba model and comparing them on the same points. Where a listing is silent we write "not stated" instead of guessing, and where two listings differ we say what each one says.
-
Pool type and size
Whether the listing names inground, above-ground or a pool size at all.
-
Surfaces
Floor, walls, waterline, shallow areas and the surface, as the listing states them.
-
Filtration
The filter layers and micron ratings the listing gives.
-
Runtime and charging
Minutes per charge in each mode, and how the robot charges.
-
Navigation
Sensors, cameras and path planning, as claimed by the maker.
-
Warranty and parts

Aiper Scuba Models Compared
The table shows only what each Amazon listing states, and "not stated" means the listing is silent, not that the robot lacks the feature. Two things stand out. The runtime figures are not comparable on a single basis, because each listing names a different mode. And only some listings say whether the pool should be inground or above ground, so read that row before you look at anything else.

The Aiper Scuba Pool Cleaners, Reviewed
The S1 gets the full review further down, in its own section. The other five follow here, each with who it suits and who should look elsewhere. Pool size is the gap that runs through the whole family: only the SE listing gives a coverage figure, so for the rest, check Aiper's own page against your pool before you order.
Top pick · Best for everyday cleaning with an app
Aiper Scuba S1
The sensible entry to the family. The listing gives it the longest Eco Mode runtime of the six, dual filtration and cleaning of the floor, walls, waterline and shallow areas, backed by a 2-year warranty.
- Premium
- Filter 3-micron plus 180-micron
- Navigation 11 sensors, WavePath pattern
- Buy it if
- You want a robot that cleans the floor, walls and waterline on a weekly schedule you set in the app, and you will check the listing gaps before you buy.
- Skip it if
- You need the listing to state the pool type, weight or charging method before you commit, or you want a camera-guided robot.
Aiper's listing for the S1 reads like a complete pitch. It gives up to 270 minutes in Eco Mode for everyday upkeep and up to 180 minutes in Auto, Floor, Wall or Scheduled Mode, and says you can set a weekly cleaning schedule in the app. It lists 11 high-precision sensors, a WavePath cleaning pattern for systematic coverage, and adaptive navigation that analyzes the pool layout.
Filtration is a replaceable 3-micron ultra-fine filter paired with a 180-micron standard filter, and the Caterpillar Treads system is described as improving mobility and climbing. The cleaning zones are the floor, the walls, the waterline and shallow areas above 12 inches. A 2-year warranty is stated.
The gaps are the usual ones for this family, and our S1 section below goes through them. The pool type, the pool size, the weight and how the robot charges are not stated in the listing text we read.
What stands out
- Up to 270 minutes in Eco Mode, per the listing
- Dual filtration with a replaceable 3-micron layer
- Floor, walls, waterline and shallow areas covered
- 2-year warranty stated
Trade-offs
- Pool type and size not stated
- Weight and charging method not stated
- The listing's model field reads differently from the product title
Best for waterline scum and sunscreen rings
Aiper Scuba S3
The Scuba to pick when the waterline is the problem. It is listed for inground pools, scrubs along the waterline and parks itself at the edge for 10 minutes with a phone alert.
- Premium
- Pool type Inground, per listing
- Surfaces Floor and waterline
- Filter 3-micron plus 180-micron
- Runtime Up to 240 min Eco
- Buy it if
- You have an inground pool with a scum ring, sunscreen residue or pollen line, and you want a light robot you can lift out with one hand.
- Skip it if
- You want live app control while the robot is working, because the listing says that is not supported underwater.
The S3 listing is built around the waterline. It says the robot travels along the waterline at a consistent 5 ft/min and reaches 2 inches above the water's edge to deal with scum rings, sunscreen residue and pollen lines. After a cycle it ascends, waits at the waterline for 10 minutes and sends an alert to your phone.
Filtration matches the S1: a 180-micron mesh for leaves and larger debris and a replaceable 3-micron ultra-fine insert for dust and sand. The listing gives an 18 lb weight and dual brushes, and up to 240 minutes in ECO mode. It also states that live app control is not supported while the robot is underwater and cleaning, which is worth knowing if you expected to steer it from the deck.
The listing says it is for all inground pools and gives a 2-year warranty. It does not state a charging method or a pool size, and it does not list wall climbing, so confirm that with Aiper if your pool has steep walls.
What stands out
- Waterline scrub reaches 2 inches above the water, per the listing
- Waits at the edge for 10 minutes and sends an alert
- 18 lb, light enough to lift with one hand
- 2-year warranty stated
Trade-offs
- No live app control while it cleans underwater
- Wall cleaning not listed
- Charging method and pool size not stated
Best for strong suction and dock storage
Aiper Scuba X1
The one for owners who care about suction and a tidy place to keep the robot. The listing pairs 6600 GPH dual jets with a wireless dock that fully charges the robot in about 4 hours.
- Premium
- Pool type Inground, per listing
- Surfaces Floor, walls, waterline
- Filter 3-micron MicroMesh, multi-layer
- Runtime 180 min, per listing
- Buy it if
- You have an inground pool with fine sand, pebbles or algae, and you want the robot to live on a dock between runs.
- Skip it if
- You need the listing to describe the navigation or the app, because neither is detailed.
The X1 listing leads with power. It describes 6600 GPH of suction with dual jets, a multi-layer filtration system that captures debris as small as 3 microns, and dual front PVC brushes for wall stains. WaveLine 2.0 is said to reach 2 inches above the waterline and give 60 seconds of sustained horizontal cleaning. The title adds a 180 minute runtime and states cleaning of the floor, walls and waterline for inground pools.
The in-box wireless charging dock is the practical extra: you place the robot on it to charge and store it, and a full charge is listed at 4 hours. Over-the-air updates and a 2-year warranty are also stated.
What the listing does not say is how the robot navigates, what the app does, or its weight. Treat it as a suction-and-dock model and ask Aiper if the control side decides your purchase.
What stands out
- 6600 GPH dual-jet suction, per the listing
- Wireless charging dock included
- Over-the-air updates and a 2-year warranty
Trade-offs
- Navigation and app features not described
- Weight not stated
- The listing lists 180 minutes without naming the mode
Best for camera-guided floor cleaning
Aiper Scuba V3 AI Vision
The camera-guided Scuba. Aiper says one front-facing camera detects over 20 debris types and sends the robot straight to it, and the listing adds a wireless dock and a 2-year product care plan.
- Premium
- Surfaces Floor, walls, waterline
- Filter 3-micron plus 180-micron
- Charging Wireless dock
- Navigation Single AI camera
- Buy it if
- You like the idea of a robot that heads for debris, and you want a charging dock and a notification when it surfaces.
- Skip it if
- You want the listing to state a pool type, or you are skeptical of the 10x faster claim, which is the maker's own figure.
The V3 AI Vision listing is the most marketing-led of the family. It claims up to ten times faster cleaning than traditional methods through an AI patrol system, with a single front-facing camera that detects over 20 debris types and navigates to them. That is Aiper's claim, and we read it as such.
The more concrete details are quieter. Runtime is up to 240 minutes in Eco Mode and up to 180 minutes in auto, floor, wall and waterline modes. Filtration is a 180-micron debris filter with a 3-micron layer. The robot weighs 18.1 lb, returns to the waterline for 10 minutes after cleaning and sends a notification, and charges on a wireless dock. The listing gives a 2-year product care plan with advance replacement.
The pool type and size are not stated, and the listing text does not describe the waterline in more detail than naming it as a mode.
What stands out
- Camera-guided navigation, per the maker
- Eco Mode runtime up to 240 minutes
- 18.1 lb with a wireless charging dock
- 2-year product care with advance replacement
Trade-offs
- Speed claim is the maker's own
- Pool type and size not stated
Best for floor, walls and surface skimming
Aiper Scuba V3 Ultra
The most ambitious Scuba on paper. The listing covers floors, walls, waterline, the water surface and shallow areas, with a buoyancy lift engine that raises the robot for retrieval.
- Premium
- Filter 3-micron plus 180-micron
- Charging Wireless charging
- Navigation Dual cameras, ultrasonic sensors
- Buy it if
- You want one robot to do the floor and the surface, and you are comfortable with the heaviest Scuba in the family.
- Skip it if
- You want a light robot, a stated runtime or a stated warranty, because the listing gives none of those.
The V3 Ultra goes further than the other Scuba models in what it claims to clean. The listing names floors, walls, waterline, the surface and shallow areas down to 7.9 in. It uses dual cameras and ultrasonic sensors, 10 adaptive cleaning paths, and what Aiper calls a Cognitive AI Navium Mode that decides what to do from pool conditions, weather and cleaning history.
The hardware is larger too. It lists 8,500 GPH dual-pump suction, a 1.1 in debris inlet and the same 180-micron plus 3-micron filtration as the others. The JellyFloat lift engine lets the robot move vertically and rise to the surface for retrieval without hooks, with quick drainage to make lifting easier. The listing weight is 28 lb, which is 10 lb more than the S3.
Runtime and warranty are not stated in the listing text we read, and neither is the pool type. Those are the three things to check with Aiper first.
What stands out
- Covers floor, walls, waterline, surface and shallow areas
- Dual cameras and ultrasonic sensors, per the listing
- Rises to the surface for retrieval without hooks
Trade-offs
- Listing weight of 28 lb, the heaviest here
- Runtime and warranty not stated
- Pool type not stated
Budget
The entry point is a small robot for a flat above-ground pool. You give up filtration detail, wall cleaning and the app.

Aiper Scuba S1 in Detail
The S1 is the model most people search for, so it gets its own section. Everything below is the figure stated in the Amazon listing for the 2026 S1 in charcoal, and where the listing is silent we say so.
What the Aiper Scuba S1 Cleans
Aiper lists four zones: the pool floor, the walls, the waterline and shallow areas above 12 inches. That is a wider list than the plain floor-only robot at the cheap end of the family. The Caterpillar Treads system is described as improving mobility and climbing ability, and the listing says it ensures thorough coverage across all four zones.
Navigation is the part Aiper dwells on. The listing names 11 high-precision sensors and enhanced dual-path algorithms. The WavePath pattern is described as systematic coverage with minimal overlap, and the adaptive navigation analyzes the pool layout in real time to eliminate missed spots. These are the maker's claims about its own software, and the listing gives no coverage percentage to check them against.
Filtration
The S1 uses a two-layer system: a replaceable 3-micron ultra-fine filter paired with a 180-micron standard filter. In plain terms, the coarse layer catches leaves and larger debris, and the fine layer is there for dust and sand. Aiper says the combination captures fine dust, sand, leaves and debris. The listing does not say how often the filters need replacing or whether replacements are sold separately, so treat filter upkeep as a question to settle before you buy.
Runtime and Charging
Aiper states up to 270 minutes in Eco Mode, meant for everyday upkeep, and up to 180 minutes in Auto, Floor, Wall or Scheduled Mode for more intensive cleaning. Those are two different figures for two kinds of job, and a pool with heavy debris will sit closer to the lower number. You can customize the routine in the app and set a weekly cleaning schedule.
How the robot charges, and how long a charge takes, are not stated in the listing text we read. That is a real gap, because the X1 and V3 listings both describe a wireless dock and the S1 listing does not.
What the Listing Does Not Say
Four things matter and are missing. The pool type is not named, so we cannot say whether the S1 is for inground pools only. No pool size is given. The weight is not stated, although the dimensions are about 17.5 in long, 13.8 in wide and 8.7 in tall. And the listing's model field reads differently from the product title, so check the model number on the box against Aiper's own page if you are buying a spare part or filter. The listing also says the robot is trusted by over 500,000 pool owners worldwide, which is a maker statement we have not checked.
None of this makes the S1 a poor choice. It means the listing is a sales page and not a spec sheet. If you want to compare it with a robot we cover in more depth, our cordless pool cleaner guide is the place to start.
S1 Pro and N1: What We Can Say
People often search for the Scuba S1 Pro and for the S1 against the N1. We can only describe what we read. Neither an S1 Pro nor an N1 is in the current Amazon line-up we read for the Scuba family, so we have no listing to quote and we will not guess at their specifications.
What we can say is how to handle the question. If a store or a video offers you an S1 Pro or an N1, find the exact model number and check it on Aiper's own page before you order, since the S1 listing we read carries a model field that does not match its title. Comparing the S1 with a robot from another maker is easier: our reviews of Beatbot and the Wybot C2 are written the same way, from the listings.
Scuba SE for Above-Ground Pools
The SE is the Scuba for a different owner. If your pool is above ground, start here and with our above-ground pool cleaner guide, because most of the models above are not described as above-ground robots, and the S3 and X1 are listed for inground pools. For a deep inground pool, see the inground pool cleaner guide instead.
Best for a small flat above-ground pool
Aiper Scuba SE
The simple one. The listing says it suits flat above-ground pools up to 860 sq ft, runs for 90 minutes on a charge, parks itself and drains quickly.
- Budget
- Pool type Above-ground, per listing
- Surfaces Floor
- Runtime 90 min
- Buy it if
- You have a small flat above-ground pool and want a cordless robot you can carry with one hand.
- Skip it if
- You have walls, steps or a waterline to clean, or you want an app, because the listing mentions none of them.
The SE listing is short and honest about its scope. It describes 1200 GPH suction, a self-parking function that returns the robot to its starting point, and a 90-minute battery that the listing says covers pools up to 860 sq ft, or about 40 feet. The robot is cordless and weighs 8.8 lb. A water-purging system is listed to drain up to 90% of its stored water in 15 seconds, which helps when you lift it out of the pool.
This is a floor cleaner for a flat pool. The listing does not mention wall climbing, waterline cleaning, an app or the filter type, and it states no warranty. That is not a criticism of a small robot, but it is the reason this is a different purchase from the S1.
What stands out
- 8.8 lb and cordless, per the listing
- Listed for flat pools up to 860 sq ft
- Fast water drain for lifting out
- Self-parking at the end of the cycle
Trade-offs
- Only 90 minutes of battery
- Walls, waterline, app and filter not stated
- No warranty stated
