Roborock Saros Robot Vacuums: The Five Models Compared

A slim Roborock Saros robot vacuum gliding under a low sofa in a bright living room

Search for a Roborock Saros and you land in a small family of look-alike robots: the Saros 10, the Saros 10R, the Saros Z70, the Saros 20 and the Saros 20 Flow. They share a name, a very low body and a dock that washes the mop with hot water. They differ in the details that decide whether a robot suits your home: how it crosses a raised threshold, what kind of mop it carries, how it deals with socks and cables, and how long the dock leaves you alone.

This guide puts the five side by side using the maker's own listings, explains the four ideas that run through the line, and ends with a plain answer for each kind of home. If you are still deciding between Roborock lines, our Roborock reviews cover the whole brand, and the best robot vacuums guide compares Roborock with its rivals.

How We Choose

We do not run a test lab, and we will not pretend to. Every model here is judged by reading the maker's own specifications for it, line by line, and comparing all five on the same points that decide whether a robot works in a real home. We list what Roborock states and say so; where a figure is missing from a listing, the table says "not stated" instead of guessing.

  • Body height

Whether the listing states a low profile and whether a raised sensor is needed.

  • Navigation

Laser, 3D sensing, cameras and how many object types the robot is said to recognize.

  • Mop type

Spinning pads, a vibrating pad or a roller, and how the mop behaves on carpet.

  • The dock

Dust emptying, mop washing and drying temperatures, and detergent dosing.

  • Hair handling

Brush design and the anti-tangle claims, the part pet owners regret most.

  • Thresholds and carpet

The step height each robot is rated to cross and how deep a carpet it can clean.

  • Price tier

Every Saros sits in the premium tier. We never print a price: it changes daily.

  • Current model

Every pick is a model sold today, with its listing read on the date below.

The Saros Line Explained

Roborock built the Saros line around one idea: a robot that is as strong as the big flagships but low enough to reach the dust under furniture. Four design choices come up again and again in the listings, and once you understand them the five models stop looking identical.

The Slim Body

Most robot vacuums with a laser carry a raised turret on top, and that turret is what jams against the front rail of a low sofa. On the Saros 10, 10R and Z70, Roborock states a 3.14-inch profile, and for the Saros 20 it states that the robot glides under furniture as low as 3.13 inches. The Saros 10 gets there with a retractable laser unit that a top-mounted time-of-flight sensor raises and lowers. The 10R and the Z70 use what Roborock calls StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, 3D sensing that removes the need for a raised laser unit altogether. The Saros 20 Flow listing does not state a height, so measure the gap under your furniture against the maker's specification sheet before you buy it.

Threshold Crossing

A low body is no use if the robot cannot leave the room. Roborock rates the 10R and the Z70 to climb obstacles up to 4 cm, which covers most door thresholds. The two newest models go further: the Saros 20 and the Saros 20 Flow list AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 and AdaptiLift Traverse 3.0, rated to cross double-layer steps up to 3.46 inches. The Saros 20 listing adds that it cleans carpets up to 1.18 inches deep. The Saros 10 listing states an 18 mm auto-lifting brush and mop but gives no step height, so it is the one to check if you have raised doorways.

Mop Types

The line uses three different mops. The Saros 10 uses a vibrating mop that Roborock rates at up to 4,000 vibrations per minute, with hot water, and it can detach the mop for carpet runs. The 10R and the Z70 use dual spinning mops that lift on carpet, and the Z70 adds a stated 200 RPM spin and 30 water flow levels. The Saros 20 Flow is the roller mop of the family: a roller cleaned by pressurized warm water as it works, which Roborock calls SpiraFlow 2.0. The Saros 20 listing says the robot is a vacuum and mop with an extending side brush and mop, but it does not name the mop type, so we leave it unnamed.

The Z70 Arm

Only one model in the line has a robotic arm. The Saros Z70 carries what Roborock calls the OmniGrip, a five-axis mechanical arm that picks up light items such as slippers, socks and tissues so the robot can clean the spot underneath. We come back to how it works below. It is the reason the Z70 exists, and it is worth paying for only if clutter on the floor is your daily problem.

Roborock Saros Models Compared

The table puts the five models side by side. Suction figures are Roborock's own ratings in pascals (Pa), useful for comparing within the line. Where a listing does not give a figure, the cell says so. All five sit in the premium tier.

The Roborock Saros Models, Reviewed

Each review opens with the short verdict, then who should buy it and who should not. The detail underneath is there for when two models look close.

Roborock Saros 10 robot vacuum and mop on its RockDock Ultra, a Saros built for stain scrubbing

Top pick · Best for stain scrubbing

Roborock Saros 10

The Saros for people who care most about mopped floors. The mop vibrates with hot water, detaches for carpet runs, and the robot still keeps the low profile of the line.

  • Premium
  • Suction 22,000 Pa
  • Height 3.14 in
  • Mop Hot water vibrating mop, detaches
  • Mop wash 176°F

Buy it if
You have mostly hard floors with dried-on marks, low furniture, and you want the mop to do real work.
Skip it if
You have raised thresholds: the listing states no climb height, so the 10R or the Saros 20 is the safer buy.

The Saros 10 is the original of this group, and its mop is what sets it apart. Roborock describes Hot Water Sonic Vibration Mopping that delivers up to 4,000 vibrations per minute, aimed at stain removal over a larger area. With the VibraRise 4.0 system the robot can fit and remove its own mop, so it switches between vacuuming and mopping without you touching it, and an 18 mm auto-lifting brush and mop keep carpets dry.

Navigation is a mix. A retractable laser and an RGB camera work together, and a top-mounted time-of-flight sensor adjusts the laser height, which Roborock says keeps a 100 degree view in low light and tight spaces. Front triple structured light and the VertiBeam side sensor watch for obstacles at the edge. Suction is rated at 22,000 Pa with a tangle-free main brush and an anti-tangling side brush and side mop.

The RockDock Ultra washes the mop with 176°F water, dries it with 140°F air, cleans itself with warm water, doses detergent and refills its own tank. The listing does not state how many days of dust it holds, and it supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.

What stands out

  • Hot water vibrating mop rated at up to 4,000 vibrations per minute
  • Mop detaches automatically for carpet and vacuum-only runs
  • Dock washes with 176°F water and dries with 140°F air
  • Matter 2.0 compatibility and the Hello Rocky voice assistant

Trade-offs

  • No threshold climbing height stated in the listing
  • Dust capacity of the dock is not stated
  • Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Roborock Saros 10R slim robot vacuum and mop on its black dock, the best Saros for most homes

Best for most homes

Roborock Saros 10R

The Saros to buy when you do not need the arm or the newest chassis. It slides under low furniture, climbs most door thresholds and leaves the dock to do the rest for weeks.

  • Premium
  • Suction 22,000 Pa
  • Height 3.14 in
  • Navigation StarSight 3D, 108 obstacle types
  • Mop Dual spinning, lifts on carpet

Buy it if
You have mixed floors, a low sofa or bed, and you want one robot that handles all of it without fuss.
Skip it if
Your home has deep-pile rugs or double-layer steps. The Saros 20 is rated for those.

The 10R is the model most Saros searches end up at, and the listing explains why. It has the line's 3.14 inch body, no raised laser unit, and 22,000 Pa HyperForce suction. Roborock says its StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 maps under narrow-legged furniture and suspended cabinets, and that VertiBeam lets it clean along cables instead of avoiding them. It lists 108 obstacle types.

The chassis is the practical part. AdaptiLift is rated to climb obstacles up to 4 cm, including thresholds and U-shaped furniture legs, and when the robot detects carpet the dual spinning mops lift so a long-pile rug does not get wet. During charging the brushes lift to avoid dragging dirt across the floor. The DuoDivide main brush and FlexiArm Riser side brush are the anti-tangle pair for long hair and pet fur.

The 10-in-one Dock 4.0 collects dust automatically for up to 60 days, refills the tank, dispenses detergent, washes the mops with 176°F water, dries them with 131°F air, cleans itself with 176°F water and re-washes heavily soiled areas. The robot has a built-in RGB camera for video calls to your pets and supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.

What stands out

  • 3.14 in body with no raised laser unit
  • Rated to climb obstacles up to 4 cm
  • Dock empties for up to 60 days, washes at 176°F and dries at 131°F
  • Mops lift when carpet is detected
  • DuoDivide brush and FlexiArm side brush against tangles

Trade-offs

  • Not rated for the 3.46 in double-layer steps the Saros 20 line crosses
  • Built-in camera will not suit every household
  • Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Roborock Saros Z70 robot vacuum with its OmniGrip mechanical arm, a Saros for cluttered floors

Best for floors with clutter

Roborock Saros Z70

The only robot in the line that picks things up. If socks, slippers and tissues on the floor are why your robot stops, the OmniGrip arm is aimed at exactly that.

  • Premium
  • Suction 22,000 Pa
  • Height 3.14 in
  • Mop Spinning, 200 RPM
  • Mop wash 176°F

Buy it if
You have kids, pets or a busy home where small items land on the floor every day.
Skip it if
You keep floors clear already. You would pay for an arm you never use, and the 10R covers the rest of the Z70's job.

Roborock's own description is the clearest: the OmniGrip is a five-axis mechanical arm that moves obstacles, lifts objects and can tidy small household items like socks and tissues. It has dual cameras, LED lighting and precision sensors, plus a gentle-grip design with a weight sensor so it does not squeeze too hard. It is rated for objects up to 300 g, and the listing notes the arm picks up light items such as slippers. Roborock says the robot detects, marks and lifts obstacles on its first pass, then goes back to clean the area that was blocked.

The rest follows the 10R pattern. The body is listed at 3.14 inches despite the arm. AdaptiLift climbs up to 4 cm and lifts the mop up to 22 mm on carpet. Suction is 22,000 Pa, the FreeFlow main brush targets long hair, and the mop spins at 200 RPM with 30 water flow levels. Navigation uses StarSight 3D and 108 object types, and in the app you can label up to 50 new objects. Roborock says AI-driven recognition will arrive through an over-the-air update, so treat that feature as a promise until it ships.

The dock washes with 176°F water, dries with 131°F air and empties dust for up to 7 weeks. The listing also gives a one-year warranty for quality-related issues, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, and says Matter support is coming by update.

What stands out

  • OmniGrip arm lifts light items up to 300 g
  • Stays at 3.14 in tall with the arm
  • Mop lifts up to 22 mm on carpet
  • Pet recognition pauses the main brush near pets
  • You can label up to 50 new objects in the app

Trade-offs

  • The arm handles light items only, not heavy or awkward ones
  • AI recognition and Matter are promised by update, not stated as live
  • Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
Roborock Saros 20 robot vacuum and mop on its RockDock, the Roborock Saros for raised thresholds and rugs

Best for raised thresholds and rugs

Roborock Saros 20

The Saros for homes with obstacles. It crosses double-layer steps, cleans deeper carpet and recognizes more objects than the earlier models, while the dock washes at 212°F.

  • Premium
  • Suction 36,000 Pa
  • Height As low as 3.13 in
  • Navigation 3D ToF, RGB camera, 300+ types
  • Mop Extends to edges, type not stated

You have raised doorways, thick rugs or a pet that sheds, and you want the strongest suction in the line.
Skip it if
You want a roller mop. The Saros 20 Flow is the one that has it.

The Saros 20 is the first model in the line where the chassis is the headline. AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 raises the body to cross double-layer steps up to 3.46 inches without losing suction, and Roborock states it cleans carpets up to 1.18 inches deep. Suction jumps to 36,000 Pa from a digital motor, with a dual anti-tangle system for hair.

Navigation is StarSight 2.0 with 3D time-of-flight sensors and an RGB camera that Roborock says recognizes over 300 obstacles. You can mark curtains in the app and the robot cleans behind them. The title and listing give a 3.14 inch body and a clearance claim of 3.13 inches under furniture.

The new RockDock has a one-piece cleaning tray for more mop coverage and water capacity, 212°F hot water washing, 131°F drying and up to 65 days of automatic dust emptying. Smart planning runs through SmartPlan 3.0 in the app. It is the only model of the five that lists both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

What stands out

  • Rated to cross double-layer steps up to 3.46 in
  • Cleans carpets up to 1.18 in deep, per Roborock
  • 36,000 Pa rated suction
  • Dock washes at 212°F and empties for up to 65 days
  • Works on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi

Trade-offs

  • The listing does not name the mop type
  • More chassis than a home with flat floors and no steps needs
  • Built-in camera will not suit every household
Roborock Saros 20 Flow robot vacuum with its roller mop, the Roborock Saros for roller mopping

Best for roller mopping

Roborock Saros 20 Flow

The Saros for hard floors that need wet cleaning every week. A roller is rinsed by pressurized warm water as it works, and the mop reaches within 10 mm of edges.

  • Premium
  • Suction 36,000 Pa
  • Navigation RGB recognition, 300+ types
  • Mop Pressurized self-cleaning roller
  • Mop wash 212°F

Buy it if
Your floors are mostly tile, laminate or hardwood and you want the roller mop style, with carpet protection built in.

Your priority is a stated body height for tight furniture. The listing gives none.

The Flow shares the Saros 20's 36,000 Pa suction, 3.46 inch threshold crossing and 300-plus object recognition, then changes the mop. Roborock's SpiraFlow 2.0 Pressurized Self-Cleaning System uses warm water and pressure to refresh the roller as it cleans. The Edge-Adaptive Roller Mop cleans within 10 mm of edges and extends up to 44 mm, and the reversible side brush is said to give up to 30 percent more corner coverage.

For carpet, Roborock lists True Wet/Dry Separation, an automatic roller shield and up to 15 mm of mop lift. AI RGB recognition identifies floor types and adjusts water flow. The RockDock combines 212°F pressurized hot-water mop washing, 145°F warm-air drying and auto detergent dispensing.

Two gaps stand out. The listing does not state the body height or the number of days of dust emptying, so check both before you decide. Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only.

What stands out

  • Pressurized self-cleaning roller mop
  • Mop reaches within 10 mm of edges and extends up to 44 mm
  • Up to 15 mm mop lift with a roller shield for carpet
  • Dock washes at 212°F and dries at 145°F

Trade-offs

  • Body height not stated in the listing
  • Days of dust emptying not stated
  • Works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only

Saros 10 vs Saros 10R

These two look close and share a body height, a suction rating and a hot-water dock. The differences are in sensing and in the chassis. The Saros 10 uses a retractable laser and an RGB camera, with a time-of-flight sensor raising and lowering the laser, and it carries a vibrating hot water mop. The 10R drops the raised laser entirely for StarSight 3D sensing, uses dual spinning mops, and states a 4 cm climb and a 60-day dust collection that the Saros 10 listing does not give.

If you mop often and have no raised doorways, the Saros 10's mop is its argument. If you want the clearer set of numbers and the lift-over-thresholds promise, the 10R is the easier recommendation, which is why it is our pick for most homes. Both dock washes sit at 176°F, and the 10R dries at 131°F against the Saros 10's 140°F.

A practical way to choose: list the steps between your rooms. If any is taller than a normal door threshold, skip both and read the Saros 20 section below.

Saros 20 vs Saros 20 Flow

On paper these are twins: the same 36,000 Pa rating, the same 3.46 inch step, the same 300-plus object recognition, the same 212°F mop wash. Three things separate them.

First, the mop. The Saros 20 lists an extending side brush and mop but does not name the mop type, while the Flow is explicitly a pressurized self-cleaning roller. Second, the dock: the Saros 20 lists 131°F drying and up to 65 days of dust emptying, while the Flow lists 145°F drying and does not state a dust duration. Third, the body: the Saros 20 gives a clearance of 3.13 inches, while the Flow gives no height at all.

If low furniture decides your purchase, the Saros 20 is the safer choice because it states the number. If wet floors decide it and your furniture is not especially low, the Flow's roller is the reason to pay for it.

Is a Saros Worth It Over a Qrevo?

The Saros line and the Qrevo line sit in different parts of the Roborock range. The Saros models on this page are the premium tier: low bodies, camera or 3D sensing, hot-water docks and, on the newest models, big threshold crossing. The Qrevo robots are the step down, built to give you the full routine of a dock that empties, washes and dries without the premium price. Our Roborock Qrevo guide goes through that line model by model.

The choice mostly comes down to three questions. Do you have furniture low enough that body height matters? Do you have steps or thick rugs that need the Saros 20 chassis? Do you want an arm or a roller mop? If you answer no to all three, a Qrevo gives you most of the hands-free routine for less. If you answer yes to even one, the Saros line is built for that problem.

If you are still weighing Roborock against another brand, our Dreame vs Roborock comparison is the next stop.

Which Saros for Pet Owners?

The listings for all five mention pets in some way, but they say different things. The Saros 10 and the 10R both have a built-in RGB camera for pet video calls and pet snapshots. The Z70 adds pet and pet area recognition, which pauses the main brush and moves aside to avoid frightening animals while boosting suction near pet areas. The Saros 20 and Flow raise suction to 36,000 Pa and pair it with a dual anti-tangle system. For a closer look at hair handling across brands, read our guide to the best robot vacuums for pet hair.

Roborock Saros FAQ

The Saros 10R is worth it if you have low furniture and mixed floors. Roborock rates it at 3.14 inches tall with a 4 cm climb and a dock that empties for up to 60 days. If you have double-layer steps or thick rugs, the Saros 20 is the better fit.
The Saros 10 carries a retractable laser, an RGB camera and a vibrating hot water mop. The 10R uses StarSight 3D sensing without a raised laser, dual spinning mops and states a 4 cm climb. Both are 3.14 inches tall with 22,000 Pa suction.
The Saros Z70 has a five-axis arm called OmniGrip that picks up light items such as slippers, socks and tissues so the robot can clean underneath. Roborock rates it for objects up to 300 g and says it lifts obstacles on the first pass, then returns to clean the freed area.
The Saros 20 and Saros 20 Flow are the strongest on paper for pet hair, with 36,000 Pa suction and a dual anti-tangle system. The Z70 adds pet recognition that pauses the brush near animals. The Saros 10 and 10R rely on anti-tangle brushes at 22,000 Pa.
